PaperGirl Berlin

Thursday, 29 July 2010

I gave a piece to the Paper Girl project in Berlin as I love the concept of it. Paper Girl is and urban action where posters are submitted from around the world, these form an exhibition in Berlin. At the end of the exhibition the roles of art are distributed to unsuspecting members of the public by team members on bikes. What a lovely present to receive! I wasn't there for the exhibition put I can see my picture hanging to the right of one of the photos I stole from their flickr.he,he!

Street Art Masterclass

Saturday, 24 July 2010

Had a fab week doing the Street Art Masterclass course as part of Trans Festival. The very sweet and talented boys from Bristol based WHAT crew Rict and 45RPM were on hand to teach us their expertise along with Legendary Belfast Street and Graphic artists Kev Largey. I have muchos respect for street artist now having spent a few days getting down and dirty on the street painting a wall inhabited mostly by pigeons. Thankfully I think I've had all my shots.he,he! St Colman's Centre, Dromore Workshop

In conjunction with Arts Ekta I delivered a workshop with artist Stella Tsang for children at St Colman's centre, Dromore. The theme was China so we made some colourful Chinese dragons, lanterns and fans while educating them about Chinese culture. The kids enjoyed it and we managed to not get too much glitter everywhere.;-)

Henna Training

Wednesday, 21 July 2010

Arts Ekta brought over Manchester based Henna Artist Sobia to train some artists and volunteers for the Mela Festival. We practiced with glitter pens before we were let loose with the real henna. The patterns are so beautiful and intricate. I'll have to work on my shaky hands to master their fine detail.
